100 Somali Police Officers to Undergo Training Abroad to Enhance Security Skills
GOOBJOOG NEWS |MOGADISHU: Somalia has sent 100 police officers to countries in Africa, Asia and Europe to undergo specialized training to boost their skills and knowledge in security matters.
According to Chief of Police for Planning and Training of the Police Unit Ahmed Mohamed 84 officers police officers will undergo training in China, Serbia and Egypt saying this is the first time Somalia has dispatched a large number of officers abroad for training.
“We are sending 20 of the officers to China, 25 to Serbia, while 24 officers and 15 military trainers to Egypt for training in counter-terrorism, criminal investigation and management.” Said Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed.
He further revealed that nearly 101 soldiers are currently abroad for advanced training.
Police Chief Sulub Ahmed Firin who spoke during a farewell function for the officers challenged them to display good image and represent the country well in undertaking their training.
