13 Al-Shabaab Fighters Dead in Somalia Intelligence Operation

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has killed 13 suspected Al-Shabaab militants in an overnight counter-terrorism raid at Gaycad Junction in the Mabaax area of the Hiiraan region.

According to an official statement by the spy agency, the targeted operation, carried out in two waves with support from international partners, hit a known militant gathering point where operatives were reportedly regrouping to plan attacks on civilians.

Among the dead were senior Al-Shabaab members and fugitives previously pursued in the same region, security sources confirmed.

Weapons and equipment at the site were destroyed, significantly weakening the group’s operational capacity in the area.

NISA reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling Al-Shabaab’s networks and protecting Somali civilians from terrorist threats nationwide.
