3 Shabaab militants to be executed for Nasa-Hablood II attack
A military court in Mogadishu Wednesday ruled three Al-Shabaab members found guilty of killing at least 20 people in a bomb attack last October will face the firing squad.
Judge Hassan Nur Shuute found Farhan Mohamed Mohamed Samatar, Abdinasir Dhaqane Hassan and Abshir Mohamed Haji Bulu guilty of involvement in the Nasa-Hablood II attack October 28, 2017 in which at least 20 people were killed.
The three pleaded guilty last week during hearing arguing they had been misled by the militant group Al-Shabaab.
Witnesses told the court the three were part of the militants who stormed the hotel and went ahead to kill occupants among them families.
The three can appeal the ruling.
