Al-Shabaab militant behind killing of P&O Ports worker dies
An Al-Shabaab militant who shot dead a an employee of P&O Ports which runs the Bosaso port in Puntland has died.
The man identified as Abdullahi Mohomed Ibrahim succumbed to injuries sustained during the attack while undergoing treatment in a hospital located in Bossaso.
Ibrahim shot dead Paul Anthony Fermosa, the head of Dubai government-owned P&O Ports’ operating in Somalia’s semi-autonomous region of Puntland on Monday.
A local government official, in Bosaso, confirmed that the man behind the attack is an Al Shabab member and was not a fisherman in Bosaso as earlier reported in a section of the media and the social media.
Al Shabab claimed the responsibility the killing of Fermosa who worked at Bosaso port since 2017.
