Danab kills 9 Al-Shabaab members in planned operation

GOOBJOOG NEWS/KISMAYO: The Somali National Army Commandos (DANAB) have killed 9 Al-Shabaab fighters in a planned operation in parts of Lower Juba region.

SNA officials said that the operation destroyed the terror network’s hideouts in a planned security operation in Sanguni, Muse-Haji, Arare and Koban villages under Kismayo district of Somalia’s Jubaland State, on Sunday.

The Commando Unit has scaled up operations in several parts of the region in an effort to weed out Al-Shabaab militants who have continued to stage attacks on innocent civilians.

At least 10 people were killed Friday, after the vehicle they were traveling in triggered a landmine set by the group in the coastal town of Kismayo.
