A soldier shot dead in Somalia’s capital city

Gunmen shot dead a Somali soldier in Somalia’s capital city, Mogadishu on Sunday evening, one of the latest attacks by unidentified assailants.

The soldier was killed after two suspected militants approached him and opened fire on them in Dharkeynley district.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, but Al Shabaab carried out similar attacks in the past months.

According to witnesses, the attackers have immediately escaped the scene after the attack. Security officials in the town said that security forces were pursuing the attackers.
