Abdiweli Mudey barred from flying to Barawe
GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: First Deputy Speaker of the House of the People Abdiweli Sheikh Ibrahim Mudey was today blocked from boarding a plane at the Aden Adde International Airport on his way to Barawe to take part in the parliamentary elections.
According to reports, the deputy speaker was prevented from flying out of Mogadishu by NISA forces acting on orders issued by ex-spy chief, Fahad Yasin.
Mudey is seeking to run for the HOP # 145 seat in the House of the People and has reportedly been struck off from the race after Laftagreen allocated the seat to Fahad Yasin’s in-law.
Farmaajo’s National Security Adviser is said to be eyeing the deputy speaker seat, hence denying Abduweli Mudey access to Barawe.
Elders from the sub clans alloted the seat have already logged a complaint against the South West Head of State for manipulating the electoral process as well as overlooking the role of the elders and have called on the international community to intervene so as to avert further crisis.
