GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Acting Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama has called for a stronger, more accountable public service to drive national development and restore public confidence in government institutions.

During an inspection visit to the National Civil Service Commission (NCSC) headquarters in Mogadishu, Jama emphasized that a professional and transparent civil service is essential to delivering effective governance and rebuilding trust between the state and citizens.

“The National Civil Service Commission is the backbone of our administration, it connects the government with the people,” Jama said, underscoring the need for efficiency, integrity, and merit-based recruitment across government institutions.

He urged the Commission to intensify reforms aimed at improving service delivery and ensuring equal opportunity for all qualified Somalis in public employment.

Jama also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s full support for the NCSC, describing it as a key pillar in the effort to modernize state institutions and strengthen good governance.

“Building a capable and fair civil service is central to Somalia’s progress,” he added.

The visit highlights the government’s broader agenda to enhance accountability and performance in public administration as Somalia continues to consolidate stability and development gains.
