AG warns govt institutions against entering into major contracts until new cabinet is formed

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The Office of the Auditor General has warned government institutions against entering into major contracts until a new cabinet is formed.
A statement issued by the Auditor General, Mohamed Ali Afhoye, said the Audit Office had reverted deals costing millions of dollars, which could have impacted the economy of the country negatively.
“The National Audit Office is aware that some of the DFS agencies have started the process of assigning, through the implementation of concessions, contracts costing millions of dollars that have a negative impact on the country’s economy,” read the statement in part.
