Ahmed Madobe tour front line military base of Dhobley lower jubba, Somalia

Jubaland State president Ahmed Mohamed Islam is touring forward operating bases along the border with Kenya ahead of a military offensive against Al-Shabaab.

President Ahmed Madobe on Sunday visits a military base of the armed forces in Dhobley town in the southwestern lower Juba region of Somalia.

President Ahmed Madobe, who addressed the soldiers in the base said that the Somali National Army forces are set to start the operation of extracting the districts of Hagar, Badhadhe and all the areas of middle Jubba province that are still under the control of Al Shabab militias.

Jubbaland state president Ahmed Madobe has also praised the Somali military and Jubaland forces resisted the enemy who early Saturday attacked Baar-Saguni town of middle Jubba region.

The president has also encouraged the soldiers to succeed from Al Shabaab after starting their operation and called the politicians and the public to unite the fight against the Al-Shabaab fighters for the liberation of the country.

At least 77 Al-Shabaab militants were killed after the jihadist group attacked a military camp on the outskirts of the town of Kismayo early Saturday.

Al-Shabaab has been fighting to overthrow the internationally-backed government in Mogadishu and on Tuesday carried out a deadly attack in neighbouring Kenya, which it has regularly targeted since Nairobi sent troops into Somalia.
