Al-Shabaab attacks Fa’adun village in Gedo, no casualties reported

Al-Shabaab fighters attacked  Fa’adun village in Gedo  region early this morning engaging in gun battle with Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers, sources have said.

Al-Shabab claimed to have overrun the village but other sources indicate they have retreated after facing fierce resistance from the allied forces. No casualties have been reported so far.

The group has intensified its assault against Somali government, AMISOM installations as well as civilian targets since the beginning of this year.

The attack comes few weeks after the group attack SNa military base in Lanta bure village south of Somalia’s capital city, Mogadishu.
