Al-Shabaab attacks Halane camp in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: Al-Shabaab fighters have attacked parts of Halane camp inside Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport, sources said as heavy gunfire can be heard from the scene.

Al-Shabab claimed its militants have gained entry into the Halane compound which is home to a number of diplomatic missions including those of the US, UK, UN and other western embassies. 

Security forces are repelling the attackers who are currently mounting a fierce  attack around the heavily guarded military base.
