Al-Shabaab attacks Ugandan Amisom base in Bal’ad, heavy fighting ongoing

GOOBOOG NEWS/KISMAYO: News just in have confirmed that heavy fighting is ongoing at the Ugandan AMISOM base in Haansheekh near Bal’ad district, Middle Shabelle.

According to witness reports, heavy fighting between Ugandan forces and Al-Shabaab forces is currently underway, with sounds of heavy artillery being heard across the town. 

Al-Shabaab had earlier reported that it had killed three Ugandan soldiers this morning, but there were no independent sources to confirm the group’s claims.
