Al-Shabab attacks Kenyan military base in Northeastern Kenya

Al-Shabaab gunmen carry out a grenade attack at a Kenyan military base in the past hour; the attack took place in Goorisa where a Kenyan military base has hit grenade explosion causing casualties.

According to Al-Shabab statement, the attack targeted KDF and there was a brief confrontation between the Kenyan army and the Al-Shabaab fighters who attacked the army base in Goorisa.

Al-Shabaab also claimed responsibility for the attack on Kenya Defense Forces and destroyed KDF base with military vehicles, though the casualties from the attack not defined.

Apart from Al-Shaba, Kenyan security agencies have not released any information about the attack on the outskirts of Garissa town at the base of their forces.
