Two Shabaab militants surrender to Jubbaland security forces

Jubaland security and intelligence authority has revealed two Al-Shabaab militants surrendered to the government side   on  Sunday.

The men surrendered in Beled-Hawo in Gedo region, and Jubbaland security officials say the men had been working with al-Shabaab for years.

Also, the men said they had made contact with Jubbaland officials and would be transferred to the Federal Government of Somalia.

On several occasions like this, al-Shabaab members have surrendered to the federal government of Somalia, as well as some regional governments after security forces launched collective operations to weaken the capability of al-Shabab attacks in the country.
