All safe as Juba Airways aircraft crashes, catches fire in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: All the 30 passengers and crew aboard a Juba Airways flight that crash-landed at Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu are safe, officials have said.

Rescue teams moved in swiftly and evacuated the passengers after the aircraft crashed and caught fire. Pictures from the scene show the aircraft lying on its back. Another aircraft nearby which was in parking also flipped. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear.

The aircraft had flown from Baidoa, the capital of South West state.
