Allied forces liberate areas in Mudug in ongoing offensive

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MUDUG: Government forces backed by local militias have wrested control of areas in the Mudug region as part of the ongoing operations against Al-Shabaab.

A joint command of the Somali National Army, Galmudug state forces and allied militia took control of Barag Mohamed Daoud area in Mudud region

The Commander of the 21st Division, Lieutenant Colonel Abdi Salad and his immediate predecessor General Hassan Jamii, led the joint forces in a battle with Al-Shabaab who are reported to have fled the area as the allied forces neared.

The allied forces have been waging ground offensives with air support from the US Africa Command (AFRICOM).
