Alshabab fighters waylay Jubbaland military forces

Jubbaland military forces have been ambushed by Alshabab fighters between Wurkoy and Bula Gadud locations and exchange of heavy gunfire is reported to have taken place between the two armed groups.

Speaking to Goobjoog News while near the scene of the action, commander of the Bula Gadud military division, Jubbaland described the heavy exchange of gunfire that ensued and their alleged successful repulsion of the unexpected attack when his forces were waylaid by Alshabab fighters.

“We are fighting with Alshabab in close confrontation and we have inflicted heavy casualties on them where we burnt a minibus and killed several men from them and the fight is going on [background shooting sound is heard]. On our side, we have no casualties. We succeeded in this operation due to information we got from the public.  We have full details about their movements and operations” said Bula Gadud Commander.

Bula Gadud in Jubbaland has been a major center of armed battle between the state forces and Alshabab fighters though the location is currently under the control of the Jubbaland state.
