AMISOM KDF Troops Hold Free Medical Camp in Dhobley
AMISOM Kenya Defence Forces have conducted a free medical camp, providing treatment to hundreds of residents in Dhobley, in AMISOM Sector 2.
This was undertaken as part of the contingent’s Civil-Military activities aimed at mitigating community needs and fostering strong relations, in addition to the key mandate of ensuring improved security. The camp hosted at Dhobley Hospital saw several ailments treated with majority of the patients being the elderly, children and women.
Speaking to the residents during the medical camp, the AMISOM Kenyan Contingent Deputy Commander Colonel Rashid expressed his gratitude to the locals for the continued support to AMISOM, enabling successful execution of its mandate.
He added that AMISOM was highly conscious of the needs of the communities whose security they enable and pledged that the medical camps would be held on a regular basis.
The Dhobley District Commissioner Sheikh Siyad Mohamed Hassan on his part thanked AMISOM KDF troops in Sector II for the help extended to the community in addition to ensuring their security.
“They are good people and are here to help. I requested them for this medical treatment and they have honored my request, may Allah bless them abundantly,” said the District Commissioner.
The area residents also expressed their gratitude to AMISOM troops for providing much needed medical assistance.
