AMISOM to set up new bases in Jowhar
African union peace-keeping troops in Southern Somalia have set up new bases in Jowhar, the headquarters of middle Shabelle to prevent the attacks of Al-shabab in the town.
The peace-keeping forces have set up other bases outside and the heart of the town after Al-shabab carried out heavy assault on the town followed by gunfire that has taken hours between the sides.
Our correspondent in middle Shabelle region Adan Hussein Daud says heavily armed troops are seen patrolling the main streets of the town conducting security operations.
Al-shabab severally attacked the bases government and African union peace-keeping troops in some parts of the region especially Mahaday district but this recent attack on Jowhar has created concern in the region.
