AMISOM’S Ethiopian Troops Rotate in Baidoa
Reports from Baidoa, the capital administrative of Interim South-West State indicate that Ethiopian troops under African Union peace-keeping troops are withdrawing from Somalia.
A fare well ceremony to see off the troops was held in Baidoa town as Goobjoog News correspondent in that town reports.
Speaking at the ceremony, the commander of Ethiopian contingent, Gabre Madhina said that his troops has maintained the stability of some parts of the region and captured areas under the control of Al-shabab.
The president of Interim South-West State, Shariif Hassan has commended the troops for their marvellous job they did.
Ethiopian AMISOM peacekeepers are rotating out after finishing their year-long tour of duty in Somalia. Based in southern Somalia, the troops have served diligently and are being replaced by fresh soldiers.
