An Overview of EACCON 2025 Conference

Mogadishu is hosting the East African Community Conference (EACCON 2025) from 7–8 October 2025. This marks the second consecutive year that Somalia has hosted the conference since becoming a full member of the East African Community (EAC). The conference focuses on enhancing and advancing productive sectors among member states of the region.

The event is jointly organized by the University of Somalia, SIMAD University, and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Education, and Agriculture, in collaboration with the EAC Secretariat. The overall Chairperson of the Conference is Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud, the President of the University of Somalia.

The conference brings together Heads of State, including the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, leaders of EAC member countries, ministers, business leaders, investment institutions, and development stakeholders.

Its main objectives are to strengthen cooperation in productive sectors transformation. to accelerate regional economic integration and sustainable growth.

The media is encouraged to focus on the key messages of “Economic Cooperation Driving Growth and Job Creation,” and highlight Somalia’s pivotal role in connecting the East African regional markets, showcasing investment opportunities, export potential, and domestic trade development.
