Army Chief Urges Discipline As Troops Depart For Overseas Training

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somali National Army commander Ibrahim Mohamed Mohamud has urged a group of soldiers heading abroad for advanced training to uphold discipline and serve as representatives of Somalia during their mission.

Speaking during a farewell briefing, Mohamud told the troops that their conduct and commitment would reflect the professionalism of the Somali armed forces.

He called on the soldiers to focus on mastering the advanced military skills and operational knowledge they will receive from international partners, stressing that the training will play a key role in strengthening the country’s security capacity.

The commander also said the knowledge gained abroad would help support ongoing military operations and contribute to the long-term stability of Somalia.

The training initiative forms part of broader efforts to professionalize the Somali National Army and prepare its forces to take on greater security responsibilities in the country.
