Assistant interior minister: “ local politicians with personal interest incite clan clashes in Hiran region”
The federal government of Somalia has accused local politicians of stimulating the clan clashes in Hiran region.
Assistant minister for interior and federalism Abdirahman Bangah who is leading government delegates assigned to end the tensions and hostilities in the region said politicians with personal interest are inciting communities against one another.
He urged the politicians to preach peace than provoking and circulating propaganda that might lead to fresh bloodshed and conflicts in the region.
He also persuaded the clan elders and intellectuals to actively take part in ending clan conflicts.
The assistant minister and his delegates were in region for three days to bring the warring sides to the negotiating table and resolve their difference peacefully.
Since clan clashes embarked in Deefow locality over 30 people were killed and many others fled their homes.
