At Least Five Killed in Lasanood Gas Station Fire

GOOBJOOG NEWS | LASANOOD: At least five people were killed Wednesday after an inferno broke out at a gas station in Sool region.

Eye witnesses who spoke to the media said that nine other people sustained injuries in the fire that erupted at the gas station at Bali-Hadhac within the Lasaanood district.

Local media reported that a pregnant media and her two daughters who were shopping for Eid clothing are among those who lost their lives and that the injured were taken to hospitals in Lasaanood, Widwidh, and neighboring towns for medical attention.

Lasanood district officials dispatched firefighters, medical supplies, and ambulances to the scene following the outbreak.

The cause of the inferno has not yet been determined although preliminary reports indicate that it started from a nearby market before spreading to the gas station and nearby areas.
