ATMIS imposes total lock down on Halane camp to safeguard elections

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has issued a statement saying it has imposed a total lock down on Mogadishu’s heavily fortified Halane camp from May 10-16 to secure the Presidential Election scheduled for May 15th, 2022.

ATMIS said it will conduct a security exercise at the Afsyoni camp following consultation with the Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Sheikh Adan Madobe.
