GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has congratulated the Somali National Army (SNA) for the successful operations carried out in the last few days in the region of Hiran.

A press release by the AU mission in Somalia said the ongoing operation, which is “Phase Two” of a series of planned offensives and started on Sept. 15, 2022, has so far been an overwhelming success.

ATMIS said it worked jointly with the Somali forces in a series of military offensives in the Hiraan and Galguduud regions, whereby it supported the army with both air and ground logistics to help liberate towns.

The AU mission also pointed out that joint planning and coordination by commanders of the SNA and ATMIS resulted in the liberation of territory in Aboorey, Yasooman, Booco, Sindhaqo, and other areas.

Finally, ATMIS has pledged its alliance to the Federal Government of Somalia to provide increased security, stability, and peace in Somalia.
