ATMIS troops kill 2 Al-shabaab militants in Lower Shebelle

GOOBJOOG NEWS | LOWER SHEBELLE: African Union Transition Mission forces have killed two Al-shabaab militants in Beledamin and recovered 2 Submachine Guns (SMGs), and 6 Magazines with 130 rounds of ammunition.

According to ATMIS spokesperson Lt Col Abdullahi Hassan Ganale of the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF), no injury was registered on the ATMIS side.

Militant groups have been extorting illegal taxes and food items from farmers in Beledamin, an agricultural area.

The loss of their fighters is a relief to civilians who have grappled with violent criminal acts meted out by Al-Shabaab terrorists for a long time.
