Baledweyn hospital close to stop operating

Hiraan administration has expressed concern over Baledweyn general hospital which is close to be shut down due to lack of medicine and other medical equipments.

Baledweyn Hospital is facing understaffed and perennially lack essential drugs, says the hospital administration.

The report says the hospital cannot adequately serve the town residents if the issue is not addressed by the Somali government and other well-wishers.

Deputy Governor of Hiraan region for social affairs, Sheikh Hussein Osman Ali who visit the hospital said that the hospital is about stop operating as a result of medicine run out.

“The situation is getting worse, the in and out-patients are dying here due to lack of medicine. The hospital cannot adequately serve the town residents if the issue is not addressed by the Somali government and other well-wishers” he said.

The deputy blamed the administration for being one of the factors that facilitated the ran out of the medicine.

“The issue of drug supplies to Hospital must be resolved immediately and future supplies to the hospital be processed and delivered on time because the town is growing rapidly,” said noted.

Since Somalia central government was toppled in 1990s, the country has been facing lack proper medical supply as some medical traders were importing counterfeit drugs which made the situation out of frying into the fire.

Somalia has no quality control bureau therefore the nation has become a place where dump outdated products such as food stuff and drugs are dumped.
