Banadir Administration Extends Eid Assistance to Special Needs Communities

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Governor of the Banadir Regional Administration and Mayor of Mogadishu, Hassan Mohamed Hussein Muungaab, has distributed Eid al-Fitr cash assistance to individuals with special needs, including members of the deaf and blind community, as part of efforts to promote inclusion during the festive season.

The initiative aims to support vulnerable groups and ensure they can share in the celebrations of Eid al-Fitr, reflecting the administration’s broader commitment to social welfare.

Speaking during the event, Mayor Muungaab emphasized the government’s responsibility to care for all segments of society, particularly those requiring additional support. He also called on the public to contribute to assisting vulnerable individuals within their communities.

The mayor commended Somalia’s security forces for maintaining peace and stability, especially during the holiday period, and urged citizens to cooperate with authorities to sustain security gains.

He concluded by extending his best wishes to the Somali people for a peaceful and joyous Eid al-Fitr.
