GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Somali people have been urged to support the government’s war on Al-Shabaab aimed at restoring peace and stability across the country.

Addressing hundreds of Mogadishu residents who rallied at Liido beach to denounce Friday’s attack, Banadir region’s Governor and Mayor of Mogadishu Yusuf Hussein Jimale Madale said the act will not deter government’s efforts to secure the country.

Madale reiterated the need for the citizens to collaborate with the government so as to avert similar attacks in future.

“May God have mercy on the people who died in Lido Beach, most of them young people. I call upon the Somali people to work closely with security agencies and provide relevant information on time so that security agencies will be alert,” he said.

He sent his condolences to friends and relatives of people killed in the attack and wished a speedy recovery to those who sustained injuries.

Federal Government of Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has declared total war on the militants group until the entire country is liberated and the Somali people enjoy peace and stability.
