Banadir Regional Officials Arrest for Suspected Drug Traffickers in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Banadir District officials have arresred four suspected drug traffickers in an operation at Juuungal and Yaqshi districts in Mogadishu.

Several sacks of Hashish were confiscated during the operatin, which the administration said was the start of such measures aimed at eradicating drugs which they said was the main cause of crime in the region.

Banadir regional administration spokesman Salah Omar Hassan sent a stern warning to people dealing in drugs saying tough legal action will be taken against them.

Federal Government of Somalia’s security forces have intesnified operatins against drugs over the past mmonths leading to the arrest of several suspects accused of dealing in the illegal business.
