Beledweyn form four exam kicks off today after flood effects delay

The minister of education of federal government of Somalia, Abdirahman Dahir Osman has arrived Beledweyne district on Saturday. He is expected to officiate the unified national examination for secondary schools.

At least 1400 students whose examinations were delayed due to the floods of river Shabelle that submerged the town and surrounding areas will sit for their examinations tomorrow.

Speaking to media after he reached Beledweyn, the minister said he came to the town to officially kick start the national secondary examinations that are to start tomorrow.

“Today, we came here to open the national examinations, we will start tomorrow. 1400 students will sit for these examinations. I hope the students will get good results since they are reviving from the effects of the floods of river Shabelle” the minister noted.

The security of all examination centers was tightened to avert possible security threats during the days of the examinations.

This year’s unified national examination came to close late May, 27, 600 students from Galmudug, Hirshabelle, South West, Jubbaland and Banadir sat for the centralized examinations administered by the federal government of Somalia.
