Beledweyne Elders Donate Aid to Support Troops in Hiran

GOOBJOOF NEWS | BELEDWEYNE: Traditional elders in Beledweyne, a central Somali town, delivered a donation of aid on Friday to local authorities in Moqokori District, aimed at supporting regional forces battling militant groups in Hiran.
The donation included three camels and a truckload of food supplies. It was formally handed over to Moqokori District Commissioner Mohamed Abdi Mocoow, in a ceremony attended by military officials and other community elders.
The aid is intended to bolster the morale and logistical needs of Hirshabelle state forces, who are currently engaged in operations against Khawarij militants, an al Shabaab splinter faction, across rural parts of the region.
Local leaders say the contribution reflects growing community support for the ongoing security efforts, which aim to restore stability and drive out armed groups hiding in remote areas of Hirshabelle.
Security forces have stepped up offensives in central Somalia in recent months, as part of a broader push by the Somali government to reclaim territory and weaken insurgent influence.
