Benadiri polls body announces election schedule for five seats

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: The Benadiri Elections Implementation Team has announced the election schedule for five seats to be held in the Somali capital Mogadishu.

This is after the Federal Election Implementation team issued a statement saying that the Commission tasked by Prime Minister Roble to solve the dispute over the Benadiri seats had solved the controversy over the seats and that the electoral process could proceed.

Following the directive, the Benadiri elections committee has announced that registration and training of candidates for the five seats will be held on February 24, while elections have been slated for Friday the 25th of this month.

Below are the seats up for grabs on Friday and the current sitting MPs:
