Somali Police Capture Injured Bomb-Makers in Failed Al-Shabaab Plot

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somali police have arrested several suspected Al-Shabaab members after an explosion in a residential house in Mogadishu’s Dayniile district on Wednesday.
The blast, caused by bomb materials allegedly being assembled inside the home in Barwaaqo neighborhood, injured the suspects and drew a rapid security response.
A rickshaw reportedly intended to transport the explosives was also seized.
Residents said they heard two loud explosions before security forces arrived. The house had previously been viewed with suspicion, but no investigation was launched until the incident.
Authorities have not yet released an official statement. While Mogadishu has seen improved security, Al-Shabaab remains active in the capital.
