Breaking: Fresh clan clashes erupted in Abudwaq town in central Somalia
One people has been killed and multiple others injured in clan clashes Abudwaq town in central Somalia following revenged attacks that occurred last night.
Residents say the clashes are fuelled by land dispute. The local administration in the town has confirmed the killing occurred on Monday night due to what suspected to be revenge over killings two people in the outskirt of the town.
A military officer said officers have been deployed to calm the violence. “one person was killed last night by unidentified gunmen and the incident prompted fresh clan clashes in the town,” he said.
He said it is possible that some residents could still be missing following the clashes.
The traditional elders have urged the government forces to intervene the situation and to stop renewed clan clashes that have claimed two lives.
The hostilities have been going on for two weeks.
