Breaking News : AMISOM and SNA close in on Alshabab- held town of Baardheere
News just in indicates that AMISOM troops and Somali National Army have recaptured an important supply route for Alshabab near the agricultural town of Baardheere, a major Alshabab stronghold.
Reliable sources in the town have told Goobjoog News that the SNA and Kenya Defence Forces troops had wrestled Tarako location, 50KM west of Baardheere from Alshabab, effectively cutting off the supply route and giving way for military offensive from Ethiopian troops from the other side of the town.
Some three thousand AMISOM troops from Ethiopia this week crossed to Gedo and have been advancing to the Alshabab held strategic town of Bardhere.
Alshabab has reportedly deployed more fire power in the town as residents flee the city to safer places for fear on an imminent clash.
Tarako location link is Bardhere to Elwaq district at the Kenyan border and is said to be an important supply route for Alshabab.
Just hours before this development, we reported that a convoy of Kenyan military forces had hit a landmine at the Dhamas location, but it’s not clear if this movement has anything to do with this latest move.
