IGAD ministerial officially opened in Mogadishu on Saturday at SYL hotel in the heart of the capital.
Reporters in the hall say Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud officially opened the summit.
The security of the city has been tightened as federal government security forces put large parts of the capital under lock down days ahead of the summit.
