Storyline:National News

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: A UN aircraft crash-landed at Aden Adde Airport this afternoon after a failed trip to Baidoa in southwestern Somalia.

The Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) said the aircraft owned by the UN Support Office in Somalia (UNOS) experienced a technical issue with its nose wheel after departing Mogadishu at 11.06 am local time.

SCAA said the aircraft initiated a return to Mogadishu, where it ‘executed a safe belly landing’ at Aden Adde Airport at 1.28 pm local time. The aircraft was in the air after returning for more than two hours before it landed.

All 17 crew and passengers on board were safe, but the aircraft experienced some damage. SCAA said it was working to cart away the aircraft from the way to allow for resumption of operations at the airport.
