Business in Bakara market came to stand still
Business activities of Bakara market in Mogadishu has on Sunday came to standstill after businessmen went on strike.
Some of the businessmen interviewed by Gob Jog FM stated that they are fed up with armed men clad in military uniform, who started forceful collection of money from the business premises.
The business people in Bakara are also complaining about armed men who set up roadblocks in the main routes leading to Bakara market, restricting the trucks and lorries from the sea port to enter the market unless they pay the demands of the armed men.
A businessman who remained anonymous said that they submitted their complains to Banadir regional administration, but nothing has been done so far.
The businessmen warn of bad consequences if the situation of the market remains as it is and the government fails to intervene.
