Cabinet Approves 2026 Budget, Ratifies Security and Migration Pacts
 
		GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia’s cabinet has approved the 2026 national budget quota regulation and endorsed two bilateral agreements with Qatar and Uganda aimed at strengthening security and migration cooperation.
The decisions came during the cabinet’s regular weekly session chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, according to a government statement released on Thursday.
Under the new accords, Somalia and Qatar will expand collaboration on security and crime prevention, while a separate memorandum of understanding with Uganda sets out a framework for managing migration and related issues.
Ministers were also briefed on the country’s security situation and praised the Somali Armed Forces for recent gains against the militant group al-Shabaab, known locally as the Khawarij.
