Cabinet Approves Two Crucial Bills on Elections

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: The Council of Ministers have this afternoon approved two crucial bills aimed at building the political party systems and advancing electoral process in the country.

The Council chaired by Prime Minister Hamze Barre approved the political parties Bill and the Elections Rules and Regulations Bill.

The bills which now head to the Federal Parliament for debate and subsequent passage will be instrumental in regulating political parties and associations in addition to streamlining the conduct of elections in the country.

The bills, once passed with augment the Elections Act which is the principle law guiding the election for various representative seats in the country.
