Calm returns to Jame’a Misra village a day after deadly clan clashes

Relative calm has returned to the clash torn Jame’a Misra village in Middle Shabelle region after 24 hours of inter-clan fighting that left more than four people dead, several houses burnt and hundreds of of residents displaced.
The fighting has flared up on Tuesday after members of one clan-based faction tried to march into territory controlled by another.
The fighters used automatic weapons, heavy machine guns and Rocket-propelled grenades.
The local elders urged the warring sides to embrace dialogue and refrain from violent acts that could disrupt the peace.
