Case Against Man Accused of Burning Wife to Death Resumes in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Banadir Regional Court Monday resumed the case against Sayid Ali Maalim Daoud, the man accused of burning his pregnant wife, the late Luul Abdicasis Mohamed, causing her death.

The trial continued at the Banadir Regional Court headquarters and was attended by the relatives of both sides, members of the public, lawyers and prosecutors.

During the initial sessions of the case, Luul Abdicasis’s children testified before the court with Farhiyo Abdirisaaq, one of Luul’s 10-year-old children recounting the harrowing events she witnessed, describing how she saw her mother engulfed in flames.

Fighting back tears, Farhiyo recounted the heartbreaking moment and shared her mother’s final words of forgiveness before her tragic demise.

Sayid Ali also appeared in the court session represented by his lawyer Ali Halane.

If found guilty of this crime, Sayid Ali will be executed to death by firing squad, as announced in the previous session of the court by Salah Daban.
