Somali cabinet approves key reports including counter-extremist ideology strategy

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU:  The federal government of Somalia’s council of Ministers Thursday approved the 2024-2027 National Strategy on countering the extremist ideology.

The strategy report was prepared by the National Center for Preventing and Countering Extremism (TUBSAN) and submitted to the national strategy report to the executive council for review.

The Ministers also passed reform projects bill and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) about the fight against corruption between permanent observative Institutions of Somalia and Saudi Arabia during the meeting.

During the Thursday siting chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, the Ministers of Internal Security, and Defense tabled reorts before the council about the security situation in the country, the stabilization efforts in liberated areas and progress made in the fight against Al-Shabaab.
