Couple gets 15 years for having links with ISIS

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: A Somali military court on Thursday sentenced two people to 15 years in prison after they were found guilty of being members of ISIS.

Dayib Moalim Mohamed Hassan and Halima Abdi Mursal Ibrahim said to be a couple, and going by the names Mustaf and Hawa, were arrested on suspicion of possessing explosives and improvised explosive devices, the court said.

Police investigations found out that Halima Abdi Mursal acted as an accomplice to the first accused by welcoming ISIS fighters and helping them store weapons.

The two were arrested on March 5, and following sufficient evidence from The Prosecution, Judge Mohamed Abdi Mumin, threw the duo behind bars for a period of 15 years.
