Custodial Corps Strategic Planning Consultations Open in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: The Somali Custodial Corps Strategic Planning Consultation opened in Mogadishu Sunday bringing together stakeholders in the justice and correctional sectors.

Justice Minister Hassan Ali highlighted challenges in custodial facilities due to years of neglect and reaffirmed commitment to improving conditions and capacity through coordinated efforts and enhanced accountability across the criminal justice chain.

The consultations aimed to validate institutional documents, foster collaboration through a Custodial Corps Advisory/Working Group, and secure support from donors and stakeholders for long-term success.

The meeting was organised by Ministry of Justice in collaboration with International Development Law Organisation (IDLO).
