Dead man’s body found at Genaral Daud Junction in Mogadishu
A body of a man allegedly killed by African Union peace-keeping mission in Somalia (AMISOM) troops while vandalizing solar-power lights, was found this morning in Mogadishu.
Residents say that the 20-year-old man who was found dead “had bullets in his head and chest.
“At about 3am, we heard gunfire, area residents woke up to a rude shock this morning when they found the dead man’s body on the road side. It is believed that he was in the company of others who escaped after their mission to steal solar power panel failed after AMISOM soldiers opened fire at them” he said.
Thugs have been stealing solar panels installed in across Mogadishu a few months ago.
The vandalism has plunged parts of the town and its markets back into darkness.
The district administration provided no information about the victim’s identity or when he was killed by AMISOM.
