Deni, Opposition Leaders Meet Ahead of Elections in Three District Councils

GOOBJOOG NEWS|GAROWE: Puntland President Said Deni held talks with opposition leaders Wednesday morning to deliberate on the holding of elections in three remaining districts following a suspension over political disputes.

President Deni, alongside his deputy Ilyaas Lugator met with the leaders of Mideeye, Horseed, Sincad, Ifiye, Mustaqbal, Akhla, Runcad and Kaah political parties ahead of the district council elections.

Voters in Garowe, Dangorayo and Godobjiran districts will be heading to the ballot on August 1 to elect their representatives.

Elections in these districts failed to take place during the presidential elections in January.
